GABOB Polyclonal Antibody detects beta-Hydroxy-GABA protein by immunofluorescent analysis. Sample: DIV9 rat E18 primary hippocampal neuron cells were fixed in 4% paraformaldehyde at RT for 15 min. Green: beta-Hydroxy-GABA stained by GABOB Polyclonal Antibody (Product # PA5-119524) diluted at 1:500. Red: Tau, stained by Tau antibody [GT287] diluted at 1:500. Blue: Fluoroshield with DAPI .

GABOB, also known as gamma-Amino-beta-hydroxybutyric acid, beta-hydroxy-gamma-aminobutyric acid, beta-hydroxy-GABA, is an anticonvulsant which is used for the treatment of epilepsy in Europe, Japan, and Mexico. It is also an endogenous active metabolite and analogue of the neurotransmitter gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), and for this reason, may function as a neurotransmitter itself.
