Galectin 2 Antibody (MA5-24357) in IHC (F)
Immunohistochemical analysis of Galectin 2 in perfusion fixed frozen sections of mouse stomach. Samples were incubated in Galectin 2 monoclonal antibody (Product # MA5-24357) using a dilution of 25 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C. Tissue was stained using the Anti-Rat HRP-DAB Cell & Tissue Staining Kit (brown) and counterstained with hematoxylin (blue). Specific staining was localized to gastric pits.

The protein encoded by this gene is a soluble beta-galactoside binding lectin. The encoded protein is found as a homodimer and can bind to lymphotoxin-alpha. A single nucleotide polymorphism in an intron of this gene can alter the transcriptional level of the protein, with a resultant increased risk of myocardial infarction.
