HK3 Antibody (PA5-103204) in ICC/IF
Immunofluorescent analysis of HK3 in HeLa cells. Samples were fixed with paraformaldehyde, permeabilized with 0.1% Triton X-100, blocked with 10% serum (45 min at 25°C), incubated with mouse anti-beta tubulin and HK3 polyclonal antibody (Product # PA5-103204) using a dilution of 1:200 (1 hr, 37°C), and followed by goat anti-rabbit IgG Alexa Fluor 594 (red) and goat anti-mouse IgG Alexa Fluor 488 (green).

Antibody detects endogenous levels of total Hexokinase Type III.
Target Information
Hexokinases phosphorylate glucose to produce glucose 6 phosphate, thus committing glucose to the glycolytic pathway. In vertebrates there are four major glucose phosphorylating isoenzymes, designated hexokinase I, II, III and IV (glucokinase). Similar to hexokinases I and II, the allosteric enzyme hexokinase III is inhibited by its product glucose 6 phosphate. The catalytic activity of hexokinase III is associated with the C terminus while regulatory function is associated with the N terminus.
