HMGN2 Antibody (MA573181) in ICC/IF
Immunocytochemistry analysis of HMGN2 in MCF-7 cells. Permeabilized with Trinton X-100 at room temp for 20 min. Samples were incubated with HMGN2 Recombinant Monoclonal (Product # MA573181 using a dilution at 1:100, for 90 min at 37°C. Followed by conjugated Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG antibody (green) at 37°C for 90 min, DAPI was used to stain the cell nuclei. PBS instead of the primary antibody was used as the blank control.

The protein encoded by this gene binds nucleosomal DNA and is associated with transcriptionally active chromatin. Along with a similar protein, HMGN1, the encoded protein may help maintain an open chromatin configuration around transcribable genes. The protein has also been found to have antimicrobial activity against bacteria, viruses and fungi.
