          Sandwich ELISA analysis of mouse IL-6 was performed using the a Mouse IL-6 Colorimetric ELISA Kit (Product # EM2IL6) by loading 50 µL per well of Mouse IL-6 Recombinant Protein (Product # SMIL6) in dodecuplicate at 2000, 800, 320, 128, 51, and 0 pg/mL across a 3 µg/mL IL-6 monoclonal antibody (Product # MM600D) pre-coated plate and incubating for 2 hours at room temperature.           MM600D targets IL-6 in ELISA, and WB applications and shows reactivity with mouse samples.



          The MM600D immunogen is recombinant mouse IL-6.



          MM600D detects IL-6 which has a predicted molecular weight of approximately 22 kDa.



          The MM600D mouse IL6 antibody (clone 32C11) has successfully been paired as the coating antibody in a sandwich ELISA with detection antibody MM600CB (biotinylated conjugate of clone 20F3). Typical dilutions for sandwich ELISA include 1 µg/mL for coating and 0.125 - 0.25 µg/mL for detection.



          Antibody MM600D (clone 32C11) and biotinylated antibody MM600CB (clone 20F3) have successfully been used in combination with recombinant mouse IL6 protein SMIL6 in ELISA applications.



          This antibody is produced by injecting Rat IgG secreting hybridoma cells into the peritoneum of mice. The resulting ascites is collected from the mice and the antibody is purified.



          This product has been tested for endotoxins by limulus amoebocyte lysate (LAL) assay and contains an endotoxin concentration of less than or equal to 10 endotoxin units per milligram (EU/mg).

          IL-6 is a gene that encodes a cytokine that plays a role in inflammation and the maturation of B cells. The protein produced by this gene is an endogenous pyrogen that can induce fever in people with autoimmune diseases or infections. The gene is primarily expressed at sites of acute and chronic inflammation, where it is secreted into the serum and induces a transcriptional inflammatory response through interleukin 6 receptor, alpha. The functioning of this gene is implicated in a wide variety of inflammation-associated disease states, including suspectibility to diabetes mellitus and systemic juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. Elevated levels of the encoded protein have been found in virus infections, including COVID-19 (disease caused by SARS-CoV-2). Diseases associated with IL6 include Kaposi Sarcoma and Rheumatoid Arthritis, Systemic Juvenile.
