Store lyophilized/reconstituted at -20°C; once reconstituted make aliquots to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Please remember to spin the tubes briefly prior to opening them to avoid any losses that might occur from material adhering to the cap or sides of the tube.
For reconstitution add 200 µL of sterile water in 40% glycerol to a final protein concentration of 100 ng/µL.
Specific Species Reactivity: Arabidopsis thaliana
JAZ1, also called Jasmonate ZIM domain protein 1, is a transcriptional repressor in the jasmonic acid signaling pathway in plants. In the absence of jasmonoyl isoleucine, JAZ1 binds transcription factors such as MYC2 to prevent activation of defense and growth response genes. When jasmonoyl isoleucine accumulates, it promotes COI1 mediated recognition of JAZ1, leading to ubiquitination and proteasomal degradation, which releases transcription factors to activate jasmonate responsive programs. JAZ1 contains a ZIM domain for dimerization and interactions with co repressors like NINJA and TPL and a Jas motif required for COI1 binding. Through these interactions, JAZ1 integrates stress cues, hormone cross talk, and developmental signals to fine tune defense, secondary metabolism, and growth tradeoffs in different tissues and conditions.
