Lyophilized antibody can be stored at -20°C. Once reconstituted make aliquots to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Please remember to spin the tubes briefly prior to opening them to avoid any losses that might occur from material adhering to the cap or sides of the tube.
For reconstitution add 50 µL of sterile water.
Specific Species Reactivity: Arabidopsis thaliana
KAT1 encodes a Shaker-type, voltage-dependent inward-rectifying potassium channel that localizes predominantly to the plasma membrane, where it is enriched in guard cells and contributes to stomatal movements. The gene produces a multi-exon transcript encoding an approximately 78 kDa membrane protein that assembles as a tetrameric channel; each subunit contains a canonical six-transmembrane (S1-S6) voltage-sensor/pore architecture with a positively charged S4 segment for voltage sensing and a conserved pore loop (H5/SS1-SS2) between S5 and S6 that forms the K+ selectivity filter. Functionally, KAT1 mediates K+ influx activated by membrane hyperpolarization, supporting osmotic uptake and turgor increase required for stomatal opening, and its activity is modulated by signaling pathways including phosphorylation in abscisic acid-responsive contexts, linking membrane transport to hormonal control of guard-cell ion homeostasis and water-use regulation.
