For reconstitution add 50 µL of sterile water. Lyophilized antibody can be stored at -20 or -80°C. Once reconstituted make aliquots to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Please remember to spin the tubes briefly prior to opening them to avoid any losses that might occur from material adhering to the cap or sides of the tube.
For reconstitution add 50 µL of sterile water.
Specific Species Reactivity: Arabidopsis thaliana
L16 most commonly refers to a large-subunit ribosomal protein; in bacteria it is a basic, RNA-binding protein of the 50S subunit that associates closely with 23S rRNA within the core of the large subunit near the functional A-site/peptidyl-transferase region, where it helps organize rRNA architecture and promotes productive positioning of the acceptor end (3-prime end) of aminoacyl-tRNA during peptide-bond formation. Functionally, ribosomes assembled without L16 can retain partial catalytic activity yet show defects in using minimal A-site acceptor substrates and in stabilizing the tRNA 3-prime terminus, consistent with a direct role for L16 in tRNA accommodation/anchoring rather than being the catalytic center itself. In eukaryotes, the orthologous L16 family member is a 60S ribosomal protein that is incorporated during nuclear ribosome biogenesis, contributing to maturation and export of pre-60S particles and thereby supporting formation of translation-competent cytoplasmic ribosomes.
