LPAL2 is a gene that encodes a protein called Lipoprotein, Lp(a)-like 2. Lp(a)-like proteins are structurally similar to lipoprotein(a) (Lp(a)), which is a type of lipoprotein that has been implicated in various cardiovascular diseases.
