Please note: We are reviewing Western blot images included in the antibody testing data in our catalog, including those provided by third parties. Unless expressly labeled or annotated as “raw-unedited”, Western blot images included in the antibody testing data in our catalog may have been edited, optimized or otherwise adjusted for presentation.
Store lyophilized/reconstituted at -20°C; once reconstituted make aliquots to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Please remember to spin the tubes briefly prior to opening them to avoid any losses that might occur from material adhering to the cap or sides of the tube.
For reconstitution add 50 µL of sterile water.

LHCB2 encodes a chlorophyll a/b-binding protein that forms part of the major light-harvesting complex II (LHCII) associated with photosystem II in plant chloroplast thylakoid membranes. Functionally analogous to LHCB1 but with distinct regulatory features, LHCB2 participates in assembling trimeric LHCII antennas that capture and transfer excitation energy to the PSII reaction center, enhancing photosynthetic efficiency. It binds multiple chlorophylls and carotenoids, organizing pigments for rapid energy transfer and contributing to photoprotection through non-photochemical quenching and state transitions, particularly facilitating dynamic redistribution of excitation between photosystems. LHCB2 expression is light-responsive and developmentally regulated, and its phosphorylation state modulates thylakoid membrane architecture and PSII-LHCII supercomplex remodeling. Perturbations in LHCB2 abundance or modification can affect antenna size, energy balance, acclimation to fluctuating light, and overall plant growth and productivity.
