MAGEA9B (Melanoma Antigen Family A9B) is a member of the MAGEA cancer-testis antigen family, a group of genes typically expressed in the testis and various tumors but not in most normal tissues. Proteins in this family are thought to play roles in tumor biology, including regulation of cell survival and interaction with ubiquitin ligases, and they are of interest as targets for cancer immunotherapy. However, the specific function of MAGEA9B itself remains less well characterized compared to other MAGE family members.
