Western blot analysis of MEPE in extracts of various cell lines. Samples were incubated with MEPE Polyclonal antibody (Product # PA5-121235) using a dilution of 1:1,000, followed by HRP Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG (H+L) at a dilution of 1:10,000. Lysates/proteins: 25 µg per lane. Blocking buffer: 3% nonfat dry milk in TBST. Detection: ECL Basic Kit. Exposure time: 90s.

Matrix extracellular phosphoglycoprotein (MEPE), also known as osteoblast/osteocyte factor 45 (OF45), is a member of the small integrin-binding ligand N-linked glycoprotein (SIBLING) family. MEPE promotes renal phosphate excretion and modulates mineralization. It can be phosphorylated by secreted protein kinases. MEPE is expressed in osteoblasts, osteocytes and odontoblasts, and the expression has also been reported in numerous human tumor cell lines. It is a 525-amino acid protein with a calculated molecular weight of 58 kDa.
