For reconstitution, add sterile, distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of 1 mg/mL. Gently shake to solubilize the protein completely. Do not vortex. Reconstituted products should be stored at -80 °.
This antibody can also be cross referenced by the term Forerunner patent anti-Muc 17.
MUC17, a member of the mucin family of glycosylated proteins, is located in the q22.1 region of chromosome 7, specifically between the MUC12 and SERPINE1 genes. The MUC17 gene spans a 39-kb DNA fragment and contains 13 exons, producing a 14.2-kb mRNA. MUC17 is characterized by the generation of two splice variants that encode either a membrane-anchored or a secreted form. This gene plays a crucial role in epithelial cell protection and renewal, primarily in the gastrointestinal tract. MUC17's large extracellular domain, which includes tandem repeat regions, is extensively glycosylated, contributing to the formation of a protective mucous barrier.
