Store lyophilized/reconstituted at -20°C; once reconstituted make aliquots to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Please, remember to spin tubes briefly prior to opening them to avoid any losses that might occur from lyophilized material adhering to the cap or sides of the tubes.
For reconstitution add 50 µL of sterile water.

NADP-ME, also called NADP dependent malic enzyme, is a plant enzyme that decarboxylates malate to produce pyruvate, carbon dioxide, and NADPH, linking organic acid metabolism to biosynthesis and redox balance. Distinct isoforms localize to cytosol, plastids, and mitochondria, supplying NADPH for fatty acid synthesis, antioxidant systems, and stress responses while providing pyruvate for respiration and anabolic pathways. In C4 and CAM photosynthesis, plastidic NADP ME functions as a key decarboxylase in certain species, releasing carbon dioxide near Rubisco to enhance carboxylation efficiency, whereas in C3 plants NADP ME supports metabolic flexibility under variable light and environmental conditions. Regulation involves gene expression, allosteric control, and posttranslational modifications, and changes in NADP ME activity influence stomatal behavior, photorespiration support, nitrogen assimilation, and resilience to drought, salinity, and oxidative stress.
