Store lyophilized/reconstituted at -20°C; once reconstituted make aliquots to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Please remember to spin the tubes briefly prior to opening them to avoid any losses that might occur from material adhering to the cap or sides of the tube.
For reconstitution add 50 µL of sterile water.
Specific Species Reactivity: Arabidopsis thaliana, Hordeum vulgare, Zea mays
NdhB is a plastid-encoded gene located in the chloroplast genome and its product is an integral thylakoid-membrane component of the chloroplast NADH dehydrogenase-like (NDH) complex. The NdhB protein corresponds to NDH complex subunit 2 and is a highly hydrophobic, multi-pass membrane protein predicted to contain multiple transmembrane helices that contribute to the membrane arm of the NDH complex, which couples electron transfer to proton translocation across the thylakoid membrane. Functionally, NdhB supports cyclic electron transport around photosystem I and chlororespiration by facilitating plastoquinone reduction, thereby helping optimize the photosynthetic electron transport chain especially under fluctuating light and other stress conditions; consistent with this role, loss of ndhB disrupts NDH complex activity and compromises electron-transport-linked physiological processes in photosynthetic organisms.
