Store lyophilized/reconstituted at -20°C; once reconstituted make aliquots to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Please, remember to spin tubes briefly prior to opening them to avoid any losses that might occur from lyophilized material adhering to the cap or sides of the tubes.
For reconstitution add 50 µL of sterile water.
Specific Species Reactivity: Arabidopsis thaliana
OPT3 encodes a membrane-localized transporter of the plant oligopeptide transporter (OPT) family that is expressed predominantly in vascular tissues, with preferential activity in the phloem, where it localizes to the plasma membrane and supports long-distance metal distribution. Functional studies in Arabidopsis indicate OPT3 is required for efficient phloem loading and redistribution of iron (including xylem-to-phloem transfer and remobilization from source to sink tissues), and it is a key component of shoot-to-root signaling that conveys shoot iron status to regulate root iron-deficiency responses. Perturbation of OPT3 expression disrupts systemic iron homeostasis and alters cadmium partitioning, leading to abnormal cadmium accumulation patterns (including elevated cadmium in seeds), consistent with OPT3 linking iron nutritional signaling to broader trace-metal homeostasis.
