PA1-9517 has been successfully used in Western blot procedures. By Western blot, PA1-9517 detects a 44 kDa protein representing Opsin.
PA1-9517 immunogen is a synthetic peptide based on the mouse opsin1 protein.
Target Information
Visual pigments are the light-absorbing molecules that mediate vision. They consist of an apoprotein, opsin, covalently linked to cis-retinal. Abs(max)=530 nm; The three color pigments are found in the cone photoreceptor cells. Phosphorylated on some or all of the serine and threonine residues present in the C-terminal region. Defects in OPN1MW are the cause of partial colorblindness deutan series (CBD) also called deuteranopia.
