PABP Antibody (MA5-56483) in ICC/IF
Immunocytochemistry analysis of PABP with NIH/3T3 cells. Cells were fixed in 4% paraformaldehyde (20 min, room temp), permeabilized with 0.1% Triton X-100 in PBS (5 min, room temp), then blocked with 1% BSA in 10% negative goat serum (1 hr, room temp). Next they were incubated with PABP Recombinant Monoclonal Antibody (Product # MA5-56483)at a dilution of 1:100 in 1% BSA in PBST overnight at 4 &(8)451;. Followed by Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG H&L at a dilution of 1:1,000. DAPI was used to stain the cell nuclei (blue).

The poly(A)-binding protein (PABP), which is found complexed to the 3-prime poly(A) tail of eukaryotic mRNA, is required for poly(A) shortening and translation initiation. In humans, the PABPs comprise a small nuclear isoform and a conserved gene family that displays at least 3 functional proteins: PABP1 (PABPC1), inducible PABP (iPABP, or PABPC4), and PABP3 (PABPC3). In addition, there are at least 4 pseudogenes, PABPCP1 to PABPCP4.
