Store lyophilized/reconstituted at -20°C; once reconstituted make aliquots to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Please, remember to spin tubes briefly prior to opening them to avoid any losses that might occur from lyophilized material adhering to the cap or sides of the tubes.
For reconstitution add 50 µL of sterile water.
Specific Species Reactivity: Arabidopsis thaliana
PDHE1 B, also called pyruvate dehydrogenase E1 beta subunit, is a core component of the mitochondrial pyruvate dehydrogenase complex in plants that converts pyruvate to acetyl CoA, linking glycolysis to the tricarboxylic acid cycle. The E1 enzyme is a heterotetramer composed of alpha and beta subunits; the beta subunit stabilizes the thiamine pyrophosphate dependent catalytic center and contributes to substrate binding and decarboxylation efficiency. PDHE1 B activity is regulated by reversible phosphorylation by pyruvate dehydrogenase kinases and dephosphorylation by phosphatases, as well as by metabolite effectors such as NADH and acetyl CoA that reflect energy status. Proper function supports respiration, biosynthesis of fatty acids and amino acids, and growth, while perturbation affects energy production, redox balance, and stress responses. Plant PDH shows tissue specific regulation, adjusting flux during developmental transitions and under environmental conditions such as drought and cold.
