Store lyophilized/reconstituted at -20°C; once reconstituted make aliquots to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Please, remember to spin tubes briefly prior to opening them to avoid any losses that might occur from lyophilized material adhering to the cap or sides of the tubes.
For reconstitution add 50 µL of sterile water.

PIP1-1, PIP1-2, PIP1-3, PIP1-4 and PIP1-5 encode closely related plasma membrane intrinsic protein (PIP1) aquaporins that localize predominantly to the plant cell plasma membrane, where they form homotetrameric water-channel complexes that increase membrane water permeability and thereby support cell-to-cell water transport and whole-plant hydraulics. Structurally, PIP1 proteins are small integral membrane proteins of the major intrinsic protein family (approximately 280-290 amino acids) with the canonical aquaporin fold: six transmembrane helices plus two conserved half-helices that meet in the membrane to create a single pore per monomer; the proteins also contain the signature NPA motifs and an aromatic/arginine selectivity region typical of water-selective aquaporins. Functionally, genetic analyses in Arabidopsis indicate that PIP1 isoforms contribute measurably to tissue hydraulic conductivity (for example, loss of PIP1-2 reduces root hydrostatic hydraulic conductivity), and PIP1-1 has been implicated in coordinating water transport with nutrient-related developmental plasticity, including modulation of lateral root development and nitrate accumulation under low-nitrate conditions.
