Store lyophilized/reconstituted at -20°C; once reconstituted make aliquots to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Please remember to spin the tubes briefly prior to opening them to avoid any losses that might occur from material adhering to the cap or sides of the tube.
For reconstitution add 50 µL of sterile water.
Specific Species Reactivity: Arabidopsis thaliana, Brassica oleracea
PLDA1/2 are plant phospholipase D alpha isoforms that hydrolyze structural phospholipids to produce phosphatidic acid and free head groups, generating a lipid signal that regulates membranes, cytoskeleton, and stress responses. Phosphatidic acid recruits and modulates protein kinases, NADPH oxidases, and trafficking factors, influencing stomatal control, root growth, pollen tube dynamics, and defense. PLDA1/2 activities are activated by calcium, phosphatidylinositol phosphates, and small GTPases, and are sensitive to dehydration, salinity, cold, and wounding, linking membrane remodeling to adaptive signaling. Their products feed glycerolipid metabolism and impact vesicle formation and curvature, while cross talk with hormones such as abscisic acid and ethylene tunes outcomes. Perturbation of PLDA isoforms alters drought tolerance, pathogen resistance, and development by shifting phosphatidic acid signaling and membrane dynamics.
