PMP22 Antibody (PA5-99626) in ICC/IF
Immunocytochemistry analysis of PMP22 in A549 cells. The samples were fixed with PFA and permeabilized in 0.1% Triton X-100, then blocked in 10% serum for 45 minutes at 25°C. Samples were incubated with PMP22 polyclonal antibody (Product # PA5-99626) and mouse anti-beta tubulin antibody for 1 hour at 37°C. An AlexaFluor594 conjugated goat anti-rabbit IgG(H+L) (Red) and an AlexaFluor488 conjugated goat anti-mouse IgG(H+L) (Green) were used as the secondary antibodies. The nuclear counter stain is DAPI (blue).

Peripheral Myelin Protein 22 (PMP22) is a 160 amino acid glycoprotein which is a member of the claudin family and is thought to play an important role in the structure of peripheral nerve myelin. Irregularities in its gene results in hereditary demyelinating neuropathies. PMP22 protein is present in the compact myelin of adult human peripheral nerve and its distribution mimics that of Myelin Protein zero (P0).
