Store lyophilized/reconstituted at -20°C; once reconstituted make aliquots to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Please remember to spin the tubes briefly prior to opening them to avoid any losses that might occur from material adhering to the cap or sides of the tube.
For reconstitution add 50 µL of sterile water.
Specific Species Reactivity: Arabidopsis thaliana
PPD2 is a plant nuclear gene found in Arabidopsis thaliana within the PEAPOD locus, producing a plant-specific transcriptional regulator that functions as a DNA-associated repressor controlling lateral organ growth and morphology. The encoded PPD2 protein is characterized by a conserved TIFY family motif and a divergent CCT-like region consistent with a regulatory, non-enzymatic role, and genetic evidence supports functional redundancy with its paralog in restricting prolonged dispersed meristematic cell proliferation during leaf blade development. Loss of PPD2 activity contributes to enlarged, dome-shaped leaves and altered silique shape, consistent with a role in limiting lamina expansion and coordinating growth across the organ surface; mechanistically, PPD2 participates in transcriptional control of cell-cycle programs, including repression of CYCLIN D3 gene expression in concert with NINJA, thereby promoting timely arrest of cell division that is required for leaf flatness and appropriate organ size.
