Western blot analysis of Protein A in 0.1 ng protein A. Protein A polyclonal antibody (Product # PA5-143390) (A) and GFP antibody (B as negative control). After incubation of primary antibody, Easy blocker was used to block interaction of protein A with secondary antibody. A: 1 mg/mL IgY of Protein A (1:10,000); B: 1 mg/mL IgY of GFP (1:10,000).

Protein A is an Orphan-U GPCR with an unknown ligand. This gene was identified from genomic analysis of a gene-dense region at human chromosome 12p13. It appears to be expressed mainly in the brain. However, its function is not known. Three alternatively spliced variants have been described; the full length of the third variant is yet to be determined.
