Store lyophilized/reconstituted at -20°C; once reconstituted make aliquots to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Please remember to spin the tubes briefly prior to opening them to avoid any losses that might occur from material adhering to the cap or sides of the tube.
For reconstitution add 50 µL of sterile water.
Specific Species Reactivity: Arabidopsis thaliana
RACK1A encodes a highly conserved WD40 repeat scaffold protein that is predominantly cytoplasmic and enriched on the small (40S) ribosomal subunit, positioning it to couple signaling inputs to the translation apparatus. The protein is composed largely of seven WD40 repeats that fold into a seven-bladed beta-propeller, a structural platform optimized for coordinating multiprotein assemblies and transient interactions. Functionally, RACK1A contributes to translational control by acting as a ribosome-associated adaptor that can influence initiation and selective mRNA translation, including through interactions with translation regulators such as eukaryotic initiation factor 6; consistent with this role, RACK1A has been reported to associate with ribosome-linked protein networks and to participate broadly in integrating environmental and hormonal signals with growth and stress-response outputs.
