Store lyophilized/reconstituted at -20°C; once reconstituted make aliquots to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Please, remember to spin tubes briefly prior to opening them to avoid any losses that might occur from lyophilized material adhering to the cap or sides of the tubes.
For reconstitution add 50 µL of sterile water.
Specific Species Reactivity: RFP
RFP usually refers to red fluorescent protein used as a reporter and fusion tag in plant biology to visualize gene expression, protein localization, and dynamics in living cells. Derived from coral and engineered variants, RFP emits red fluorescence that penetrates tissues well and minimizes overlap with green reporters like GFP, enabling multicolor imaging. It can be targeted to specific compartments via signal peptides, linked to promoters for transcriptional readouts, or fused to proteins to track trafficking and interactions. RFP is generally monomeric and photostable in modern variants, but brightness, maturation speed, pH sensitivity, and photobleaching differ among types, so choice of variant and imaging settings are important. Controls for autofluorescence, expression level, and proper fusion design help ensure accurate interpretation in developmental and stress studies.
