Store lyophilized/reconstituted at -20°C; once reconstituted make aliquots to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Please remember to spin the tubes briefly prior to opening them to avoid any losses that might occur from material adhering to the cap or sides of the tube.
For reconstitution add 100 µL of sterile water.
Specific Species Reactivity: Arabidopsis thaliana
RGA, also called repressor of ga1 3 like, is a DELLA protein that represses gibberellin signaling in plants. In the absence of gibberellin, RGA accumulates in the nucleus and binds transcription factors to inhibit growth processes such as stem elongation, seed germination, and flowering. When gibberellin levels rise, the receptor GID1 promotes interaction of RGA with the SCF E3 ligase containing SLY1 or GID2, leading to ubiquitination and proteasomal degradation of RGA and activation of GA responsive genes. RGA integrates cross talk with auxin, brassinosteroids, and light signaling, and its stability and activity are modulated by phosphorylation and other posttranslational modifications. Mutations affecting RGA alter plant stature, developmental timing, and stress responses by shifting the balance of growth repression and hormone sensitivity.
