Immunofluorescent staining of SH-SY5Y cells using Product # PA5-19644, anti-RGS2 antibody. The cells were fixed with PFA (4%)for 10 minutes, permabilised TBS-T for 20 minutes and exposed to the primary antibody at a concentration of 1 µg/mL for 1 hour at room temp. A solution of BSA (1%), normal goat serum (10%) and glycine (0.3 M) was used to quench autofluorescence and block non-specific protein-protein interactions. Regulator of G protein signaling (RGS) family members are regulatory molecules that act as GTPase activating proteins (GAPs) for G alpha subunits of heterotrimeric G proteins. RGS proteins are able to deactivate G protein subunits of the Gi alpha, Go alpha and Gq alpha subtypes. They drive G proteins into their inactive GDP-bound forms. Regulator of G protein signaling 2 belongs to this family. The protein acts as a mediator of myeloid differentiation and may play a role in leukemogenesis.
