SMG1 Antibody (MA5-42693) in WB
Western blot analysis of SMG1 in extracts of various cell lines. Samples were incubated with SMG1 Monoclonal antibody (Product # MA5-42693) using a dilution of 1:1,000, followed by HRP Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG (H+L) at a dilution of 1:10,000. Lysates/proteins: 25 µg per lane. Blocking buffer: 3% nonfat dry milk in TBST. Detection: ECL Basic Kit. Exposure time: 10s.

This gene encodes a protein involved in nonsense-mediated mRNA decay as part of the mRNA surveillance complex. The protein has kinase activity and is thought to function in NMD by phosphorylating the regulator of nonsense transcripts 1 protein. Alternative spliced transcript variants have been described, but their full-length natures have not been determined.
