Store lyophilized/reconstituted at -20°C; once reconstituted make aliquots to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Please remember to spin the tubes briefly prior to opening them to avoid any losses that might occur from material adhering to the cap or sides of the tube.
For reconstitution add 50 µL of sterile water.
Specific Species Reactivity: Arabidopsis thaliana
SPSA1, also called sucrose phosphate synthase A1, is an enzyme that catalyzes formation of sucrose 6 phosphate from UDP glucose and fructose 6 phosphate, a key step in sucrose biosynthesis in plants. It helps control carbon partitioning from photosynthetic products toward transportable and storage sugars, influencing growth, stress tolerance, and sink source balance. SPSA1 activity is regulated by allosteric effectors, reversible phosphorylation, and redox status, responding to light, osmotic stress, and hormones to adjust sucrose production. Expression is strong in photosynthetic tissues and developing sinks, and perturbation alters sugar levels, osmotic balance, and metabolism, impacting traits such as yield, stress resilience, and diurnal carbohydrate dynamics.
