Salmonella paratyphi B LPS (lipopolysaccharide) is a complex molecule found on the surface of the bacterium Salmonella paratyphi B. It is composed of lipid A, core oligosaccharide, and O-antigen polysaccharide chains. The O-antigen polysaccharide chains are highly variable and are responsible for the serological diversity of Salmonella paratyphi B strains. The LPS molecule plays a crucial role in the pathogenesis of Salmonella infections by interacting with host cells and triggering immune responses.
