Store lyophilized/reconstituted at -20°C; once reconstituted make aliquots to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Please, remember to spin tubes briefly prior to opening them to avoid any losses that might occur from lyophilized material adhering to the cap or sides of the tubes.
For reconstitution add 50 µL of sterile water.
Specific Species Reactivity: Arabidopsis thaliana, Pisum sativum
TIM10 is a small mitochondrial intermembrane space chaperone that partners with TIM12 and TIM13 to form soluble complexes guiding hydrophobic carrier precursors to the TIM22 insertion machinery in plants. It binds transmembrane segments of metabolite carriers after passage through the TOM complex, stabilizes them in the aqueous space, and delivers them to TIM22 for insertion into the inner membrane. TIM10 relies on oxidative folding with disulfide bonds formed by the Mia40 Erv1 pathway, and its function is essential for biogenesis of ADP ATP carriers and other multi pass transporters that sustain respiration and metabolic exchange. Expression aligns with mitochondrial demand and development, and perturbation of TIM10 impairs carrier import, reduces bioenergetic capacity, and affects growth and stress tolerance due to compromised inner membrane protein assembly.
