Lyophilized antibody can be stored at -20°C for up to 3 years. Re-constituted antibody can be stored at 4°C for several days to weeks. Once reconstituted make aliquots to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Please remember to spin the tubes briefly prior to opening them to avoid any losses that might occur from material adhering to the cap or sides of the tube.
For reconstitution add 50 µL of sterile water.

TIM9 encodes a small, nuclear-encoded mitochondrial protein that localizes to the mitochondrial intermembrane space, where it associates with the inner membrane import machinery rather than functioning as a soluble matrix factor. The protein is a compact, disulfide-bonded "small TIM" chaperone subunit (approximately 10 kDa) characterized by a conserved twin CX3C motif that forms intramolecular disulfide bonds and stabilizes a helix-rich fold; in cells it co-assembles with TIM10 into a hetero-oligomeric hexameric chaperone complex, and TIM9-containing assemblies can also associate with a larger TIM22-related carrier-import machinery. Structurally, the TIM9-TIM10 hexamer adopts an alpha-propeller-like architecture with multiple helical "blades" that present flexible, tentacle-like elements suited for transient substrate engagement. Functionally, TIM9 acts as an ATP-independent chaperone in the intermembrane space that captures hydrophobic, multi-pass inner-membrane precursor proteins (notably carrier family substrates) as they emerge from the TOM channel, shields them from aggregation in the aqueous compartment, and promotes their efficient handoff for insertion into the inner membrane via the TIM22 pathway.
