Store lyophilized/reconstituted at -20°C; once reconstituted make aliquots to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Please, remember to spin tubes briefly prior to opening them to avoid any losses that might occur from lyophilized material adhering to the cap or sides of the tubes.
For reconstitution add 50 µL of sterile water.
Specific Species Reactivity: Arabidopsis thaliana
UVR8 encodes a plant UV-B photoreceptor that is present in both the cytosol and nucleus, with UV-B exposure promoting rapid nuclear accumulation where it can associate with chromatin and regulate UV-B-responsive transcriptional programs. Structurally, UVR8 is an RCC1-like protein dominated by a seven-bladed beta-propeller core that forms a stable homodimer in the absence of UV-B; UV-B perception is intrinsic to the protein (no external chromophore) and is mediated by key tryptophan residues at the dimer interface whose excitation destabilizes a network of cross-dimer salt bridges, driving reversible dimer-to-monomer conversion that initiates signaling. Functionally, monomeric UVR8 engages the E3 ubiquitin ligase COP1 through a critical C-terminal segment to promote expression of UV-protective genes (including regulators such as HY5), supporting acclimation responses such as induction of phenylpropanoid/flavonoid biosynthesis and broader photomorphogenic and stress-tolerance outputs under UV-B irradiation.
