Store lyophilized/reconstituted at -20°C; make aliquots to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Please remember to spin the tubes briefly prior to opening them to avoid any losses that might occur from material adhering to the cap or sides of the tube.
For reconstitution add 100 µL of sterile water.
Specific Species Reactivity: Arabidopsis halleri, Nicotiana tabaccum, Thellungiella salsuginea, Vigna radiata
V ATPase B is the B subunit of the plant vacuolar type proton ATPase that forms part of the peripheral V1 catalytic sector responsible for ATP hydrolysis. Together with other V1 and V0 subunits, it drives proton pumping across vacuolar and endomembrane membranes to acidify lumens, generating the proton motive force that powers secondary transport of ions and metabolites. The B subunit helps organize the catalytic hexamer, interacts with regulatory proteins, and contributes to coupling between ATP turnover and proton translocation. V ATPase activity underpins pH homeostasis, vesicle trafficking, protein sorting, and stress responses, influencing processes such as stomatal function, nutrient storage, and growth. Expression of B subunits is developmentally and environmentally regulated, and perturbation alters vacuolar acidification, ion balance, and resilience to drought, salinity, and pathogens.
