Store lyophilized/reconstituted at -20°C; once reconstituted make aliquots to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Please remember to spin the tubes briefly prior to opening them to avoid any losses that might occur from material adhering to the cap or sides of the tube.
For reconstitution add 50 µL of sterile water.
Specific Species Reactivity: Arabidopsis thaliana, Mesembryanthemum crystallinum, Nicotiana tabacum
V ATPase C is the C subunit of the plant vacuolar type proton ATPase, located in the peripheral V1 sector that hydrolyzes ATP to drive proton pumping by the membrane embedded V0 sector. The C subunit contributes to structural coupling between ATP turnover and proton translocation, helps regulate assembly and disassembly of the V1 V0 complex, and modulates activity in response to cellular energy and stress cues. V ATPase mediated acidification of vacuoles and endomembrane compartments supports ion and metabolite storage, protein sorting, vesicle trafficking, and pH homeostasis, influencing growth, stomatal function, and stress tolerance. Changes in V ATPase C expression or function affect vacuolar acidity, secondary transport capacity, and resilience under drought, salinity, and pathogen challenge.
