Store lyophilized/reconstituted at -20°C; once reconstituted make aliquots to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Please remember to spin the tubes briefly prior to opening them to avoid any losses that might occur from material adhering to the cap or sides of the tube.
For reconstitution add 50 µL of sterile water.
Specific Species Reactivity: Arabidopsis thaliana (recombinant ABI3)
VP1, also called Viviparous 1, is a plant B3 domain transcription factor that regulates seed maturation, dormancy, and responses to abscisic acid. It activates late embryogenesis abundant genes, storage protein synthesis, and desiccation tolerance programs while repressing premature germination. VP1 integrates hormone and developmental signals by interacting with cofactors and chromatin regulators to modulate transcription in the developing embryo and seed. Loss of VP1 leads to vivipary, reduced dormancy, and defects in seed reserve accumulation and stress protection, whereas proper VP1 function ensures maturation, longevity, and controlled germination under environmental variation.
