VRK2 Antibody (PA5-88440) in WB
Western blot analysis of VRK2 in extracts of LO2 cells. Samples were incubated with VRK2 Polyclonal antibody (Product # PA5-88440) using a dilution of 1:3,000, followed by HRP Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG (H+L) at a dilution of 1:10,000. Lysates/proteins: 25 µg per lane. Blocking buffer: 3% nonfat dry milk in TBST. Detection: ECL Basic Kit. Exposure time: 90s.

VRK2 serine/threonine kinases vaccinia related kinase 2 is a member of the vaccinia-related kinase (VRK) family of kinases. VRK2 is widely expressed in human tissues and highly expressed in actively dividing cells, such as those in testis, leukocytes, fetal liver and carcinomas. VRK2 can be used to phosphorylate casein and itself undergoes autophosphorylation. VRK2 interacts specifically with Epstein-Barr virus BHRF1, a homologue of Bcl-2, and this interaction is involved in protecting cells from apoptosis.
