Ymer Antibody (A302-094A) in WB
Detection of human Ymer by western blot and immunoprecipitation. Samples: Whole cell lysate (5, 15 and 50 µg for WB; 1 mg for IP, 20% of IP loaded) from HeLa cells. Antibodies: Affinity purified rabbit anti-Ymer antibody (Product # A302-094A) used for WB at 0.04 µg/mL (A) and 1 µg/mL (B) and used for IP at 3 µg/mg lysate. Ymer was also immunoprecipitated by rabbit anti-Ymer antibodies A302-093A and BL8316, which recognize other epitopes. Detection: Chemiluminescence with exposure times of 30 seconds (A) and 3 seconds (B).

This protein is a bifunctional mRNA-capping enzyme exhibiting RNA 5'-triphosphatase activity in the N-terminal part and mRNA guanylyltransferase activity in the C-terminal part. Catalyzes the first two steps of cap formation: by removing the gamma-phosphate from the 5'-triphosphate end of nascent mRNA to yield a diphosphate end, and by transferring the gmp moiety of GTP to the 5'-diphosphate terminus.
