The ZNF707 gene, a member of the zinc-finger protein (ZNF) family, encodes a transcription factor that can significantly influence various cellular processes by binding to DNA and regulating gene expression. Located on chromosome 4q32, zinc-finger proteins like ZNF707 are characterized by their zinc-finger motifs, which enable their interaction with specific DNA sequences. Mutations in ZNF707, such as rs4873815-TT, have been implicated in the tumorigenesis and prognosis of ovarian clear cell adenocarcinoma (Ov-CCA), highlighting its clinical significance in cancer research. Research also suggests that missense mutations in ZNF genes can alter protein-DNA interactions, potentially leading to cancer development.
