Immunofluorescent analysis of mGluR5 in human neuroblastoma cell line (SK-N-BE). Sample was fixed with 4% formaldehyde (15 min at RT), incubated with mGluR5 monoclonal antibody (Product # MA5-27690) using a dilution of 1:100 (1 hour at RT), and followed by Goat Anti-Mouse 488, Phalloidin Texas Red and DAPI secondary antibody at a dilution of 1:200, 1:1000 (60 min at RT) and 1:5000 (5 min at RT). 1 µg/mL of MA5-27690 was sufficient for detection of mGluR1/5 glutamate receptor in 20 µg of rat brain membrane lysate and assayed by colorimetric immunoblot analysis using goat anti-mouse IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody.|Detects approximately 130kDa (both mGluR1 and mGluR5).
This antibody was formerly sold as clone S75-33.

GRK1 is a member of the guanine nucleotide protein-coupled (G protein) receptor kinase subfamily of Serine/Threonine kinase family. GRK1 phosphorylates rhodopsin and initiates its deactivation. G protein mediated phosphorylation promotes the binding of arrestin, which removes the receptor from the G-protein and terminates the receptor signal chain. GRK1 is farnesylated to promote membrane association. Studies have shown that GRK1 has been shown to be inhibited by recoverin, a Calcium binding protein. Diseases associated with GRK1 protein dysfunction include Oguchi Disease-2 and Hereditary Night Blindness.
