AASDHPPT Antibody (PA5-117762) in WB
Western Blot using AASDHPPT Polyclonal Antibody (Product # PA5-117762) at 1:500 dilution. Lane A: HepG2 Whole Cell Lysate. Lysates/proteins at 30 μg per lane. Secondary antibody: Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG (H+L)/HRP at 1:10,000 dilution. Developed using the ECL technique. Performed under reducing conditions. Predicted band size: 36 kDa. Observed band size: 36 kDa. (We are unsure of the identity of these extra bands).

The protein encoded by this gene is similar to Saccharomyces cerevisiae LYS5, which is required for the activation of the alpha-aminoadipate dehydrogenase in the biosynthetic pathway of lysine. Yeast alpha-aminoadipate dehydrogenase converts alpha-biosynthetic-aminoadipate semialdehyde to alpha-aminoadipate. It has been suggested that defects in the human gene result in pipecolic acidemia.
