Store lyophilized/reconstituted at -20°C; once reconstituted make aliquots to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Please remember to spin the tubes briefly prior to opening them to avoid any losses that might occur from material adhering to the cap or sides of the tube.
For reconstitution add 50 µL of sterile water.
Specific Species Reactivity: Arabidopsis thaliana
AKINB3 is a plant gene encoding a beta subunit of the SnRK1 protein kinase complex, which is analogous to the AMPK regulatory system in animals. The beta subunit acts as a scaffold and regulatory component that assembles the catalytic alpha subunit with the gamma like regulatory subunit, influences complex localization, and modulates substrate specificity. SnRK1 is a central energy and stress sensor that reprograms metabolism under low energy, hypoxia, nutrient limitation, or pathogen challenge by promoting catabolic pathways and restraining growth related anabolism. AKINB3 contributes to complex stability and regulation through its carbohydrate binding module and interaction with membrane or organelle associated partners, helping target SnRK1 activity to specific cellular locations. Expression of AKINB3 responds to developmental and environmental cues, and genetic perturbation affects carbon allocation, stress tolerance, and transcriptional networks that balance energy use with growth.
