Store vial at -20° C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20° C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. This product is stable for several weeks at 4° C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
ALG6 Antibody antiserum is directed against human ALG6. A 58 kDa band is detected when assayed by immunoblot. Cross reactivity is expected against human ALG6 protein based on a 100% homology of the amino acid sequence of the immunogen between rat, mouse, drosophila, and pongo abelii.

ALG6 is a member of the ALG6/ALG8 glucosyltransferase family. It catalyzes the addition of the first glucose residue to the growing lipid-linked oligosaccharide precursor of N-linked glycosylation. Mutations in this gene encoding ALG6 are associated with congenital disorders of glycosylation type Ic.This gene encodes a member of the ALG6/ALG8 glucosyltransferase family. The encoded protein catalyzes the addition of the first glucose residue to the growing lipid-linked oligosaccharide precursor of N-linked glycosylation. Mutations in this gene are associated with congenital disorders of glycosylation type Ic.
