Anivovetmab, an anti-VP2 monoclonal antibody, is a biosimilar designed for canine applications, particularly targeting the major capsid protein VP2 of Canine Parvovirus. It is a chimeric monoclonal antibody combining sequences from Canis familiaris and Rattus norvegicus, forming a disulfide-linked dimer. Anivovetmab functions by binding to the VP2 protein, neutralizing the virus, and aiding the immune system in clearing the infection. This biosimilar mimics the IgG structure with gamma and kappa chains typical to the immunoglobulin family, ensuring its efficacy in antiviral defense. The primary application of Anivovetmab is in veterinary medicine for preventing and treating parvovirus infections in dogs.
