Application Notes: Flow cytometry - This antibody stains the extracellular domain of mouse CD155. The thymocytes were blocked with 5% mouse serum before incubation with clone 3F1 for 1 hour at 4°C As positive control CD4+CD8+ thymocytes was used and as negative control CD155-/- derived cells. Functional Assay- This antibody functions as antagonist. The antibody was functionally tested by blocking adhesion of Sf9 cells expressing mCD155 to RMA, CD4+ and CD8+ cells. Furthermore, antibody clone 3F1 prevents formation of mCD155/ligand complexes. Positive control: CD4+CD8+ mouse thymocytes; Negative control: CD155-/- cells.
The protein encoded by this gene is a transmembrane glycoprotein belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily. The external domain mediates cell attachment to the extracellular matrix molecule vitronectin, while its intracellular domain interacts with the dynein light chain Tctex-1/DYNLT1. The gene is specific to the primate lineage, and serves as a cellular receptor for poliovirus in the first step of poliovirus replication. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
