CDC16/APC6 Antibody (A301-166A) in IP
Detection of human CDC16/APC6 by western blot of immunoprecipitates. Samples: Whole cell lysate (1 mg for IP, 20% of IP loaded) from HeLa cells. Antibodies: Affinity purified rabbit anti-CDC16/APC6 antibody (Product # A301-166A) used for IP at 3 µg/mg lysate. CDC16/APC6 was also immunoprecipitated by rabbit anti-CDC16/APC6 antibody A301-165A, which recognizes an upstream epitope. For blotting immunoprecipitated CDC16/APC6, A301-165A was used at 0.1 µg/mL. Detection: Chemiluminescence with an exposure time of 30 seconds.

The protein encoded by this gene is structurally very similar to the CDC46 protein from S. cerevisiae, a protein involved in the initiation of DNA replication. The encoded protein is a member of the MCM family of chromatin-binding proteins and can interact with at least two other members of this family. The encoded protein is upregulated in the transition from the G0 to G1/S phase of the cell cycle and may actively participate in cell cycle regulation.
