Store lyophilized/reconstituted at -20°C; once reconstituted make aliquots to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Please, remember to spin tubes briefly prior to opening them to avoid any losses that might occur from lyophilized material adhering to the cap or sides of the tubes.
For reconstitution add 50 µL of sterile water.
Specific Species Reactivity: Arabidopsis thaliana
CSD1, also called Copper Zinc Superoxide Dismutase 1, is a cytosolic antioxidant enzyme in plants that converts superoxide radicals into hydrogen peroxide and oxygen, providing the first line of defense against oxidative stress. It requires copper and zinc cofactors for catalytic activity and helps maintain redox homeostasis during normal metabolism and under stresses such as drought, salinity, high light, and pathogen challenge. CSD1 works with catalase and peroxidases that further process hydrogen peroxide, and its expression is regulated by metal availability, microRNAs such as miR398, and environmental cues. Proper CSD1 function supports photosynthesis, respiration, and protection of proteins and membranes, while altered activity impacts stress tolerance, growth, and developmental processes.
