Expression of Contactin-1 in rat cerebral ventricle: - Immunohistochemical staining of perfusion-fixed frozen rat brain sections with Anti-Contactin-1/CNTN1 (extracellular) Antibody (#ANR-171), (1:200), followed by goat Anti-rabbit-AlexaFluor-488. Reconstitution: 25 µL, 50 µL or 0.2 mL double distilled water (DDW), depending on the sample size. The antibody ships as a lyophilized powder at room temperature. Upon arrival, it should be stored at -20C. The reconstituted solution can be stored at 4C for up to 1 week. For longer periods, small aliquots should be stored at -20C. Avoid multiple freezing and thawing. Centrifuge all antibody preparations before use (10000 x g 5 min).

Contactin 1 encodes a protein that is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily. It is a glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchored neuronal membrane protein that functions as a cell adhesion molecule. It may play a role in the formation of axon connections in the developing nervous system. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described for this gene.
