GNB5 Antibody (PA5-117969) in WB
Western Blot using GNB5 Polyclonal Antibody (Product # PA5-117969) at 1:500 dilution. Lane A: Jurkat Whole Cell Lysate, Lane B: RT-4 Whole Cell Lysate, Lane C: U-251 MG Whole Cell Lysate. Lysates/proteins at 30 μg per lane. Secondary antibody: Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG (H+L)/HRP at 1:10,000 dilution. Developed using the ECL technique. Performed under reducing conditions. Predicted band size: 44 kDa. (We are unsure of the identity of these extra bands).

The Gb5 protein is a G protein subunit present predominantly in the central nervous system. This protein appears to be expressed in two forms, one found in the brain of 39 kDa and one found in the retina of 44 kDa. It has also been found that Gb5 associates tightly with RGS7, a member of the superfamily of negative regulators of G protein signaling. These complexes have been localized to most regions of the brain, whereas Gb1-4 exhibit no observable colocalization with RGS7, despite their widespread codistribution throughout similar neuronal networks. This antibody is specific for a peptide sequence within the D1 blade which is not found in the Gb's 1-4.
